"Lumière" means "light" in French.

Grace’s grandfather began his career by running a chicken hatchery, which he named Yong Guang — meaning “eternal light” in Taiwanese. Over time, it became the foundation of the family’s livelihood.
In French philosophy, lumière also carries the meaning of “enlightenment.” While enlightenment is often seen as something granted by external forces, the French interpretation is more inward — lumière as a source of light from within. It suggests that we shouldn’t wait for others to illuminate our path, but instead find strength and inspiration within ourselves, allowing our own light to shine and touch those around us.
Naming the restaurant Lumière is both a tribute to Grace’s grandfather, and a pursuit of our own inner lumière — the light we hope to share with every guest.
